Pickin’ in the Panhandle is host to the KCBS West Virginia State BBQ Championship and a Backyard BBQ Cook-off. Whether you’re a professional chef or just king of the grill in your own backyard, we have the competition for you – complete with cash prizes, trophies, and braggin’ rights!

• 8:00 am – Professional and backyard teams may arrive at Lazy A Campground. Meat inspection will follow after team set-up is complete.
• 6:00 pm – Cooks meeting for professional teams
• 11:00 pm to 7:00 am – Quiet time

September 8, 2012

• 10:30 am – Tastin’ Tent submissions
• 12:00 pm – Chicken turn-in
• 12:30 pm – Ribs turn-in
• 1:00 pm – Pork turn-in
• 1:30 pm – Brisket turn-in
• 2:00 pm – Cook’s Choice/WV Governors Cup turn-in
• 2:30 pm – Smokin’ Sweets turn-in
• 4:30 pm – BBQ Awards
• 6:00 pm – Cooks meeting for backyard teams
• 6:30 pm – Meat inspection is available for backyard teams (please give advanced notice if you wish to have meat inspected)
• 11:00 pm to 7:00 am – Quiet time
